Waveform Generator DAFG-1EO
Programmable Digital Waveform Generator Module With Extraction and Offset Control
This waveform generator can produce preferably harmonic signals or a combination of them in a frequency range of up to 100 kHz. It is used to control power amplifiers for quadrupole traps.
The signal output can be synchronized with external instruments via the trigger input. The digital trigger signal at the trigger input initiates the signal generation. The trigger slope is selectable.
The waveform output can be terminated by extraction pulses. The amplitude of the pulses can be freely defined. The extraction pulse is triggered by a digital trigger signal from a different trigger input than the waveform generator. Optionally, one trigger input can be shared so that odd-numbered pulses trigger the waveform generator and even-numbered ones generate the extraction pulses.
The output voltages can be shifted by an offset voltage. The magnitude of the offset voltage can be freely defined.
The device monitors an interlock loop that disables the device if it is opened.
The connected amplifiers and their power supplies are typically cooled by a heat sink located on the rear panel of the device. The heat sink is actively cooled by several temperature-controlled fans. The waveform generator unit monitors the heatsink temperature and the fan function. The connected amplifiers are disabled if the heatsink threatens to overheat or if any one of the temperature sensors fails.
The waveform generator is equipped with a USB data interface that allows the user to transfer waveform, measurement, extraction, and settings data to or from the device. The USB data interface is galvanically connected to the device case.
